Besides dogs and sheep, domestic goats are considered as one of the first domestic animals ever kept by humans. Domestic goats were probably domesticated in the Middle East prior to the 11th century BC. This goat is considered one of the easiest to keep. Goats provide meat, leather and milk. Due to their excellent climbing skills, they are mainly kept in mountainous areas.
